Silliman Uni. among top 3 schools in nursing board exams

THREE schools outside Metro Manila with at least 100 examinees fared well in the latest nursing board examinations as almost all of their takers passed the tests administered last December, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced yesterday.

PRC Chair Leonor Tripon-Rosero said St. Louis University in Baguio City emerged No. 1 with a 99 percent success rate: 144 out of 146 examinees passed the licensure exams.

Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro followed with 229 out of 233 students passing the exams (98 percent). Silliman University in Dumaguete City came in third with 312 out of 321 board passers (97 percent).

Rosero said that 28,924 (or 43.42 percent) out of the 67,728 board takers passed the December licensure exams.

Thirty-one successful examinees made it to the Top 10. They are the following:

1. Zandra Mae Zabaza Bongco of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, 88.40 percent.

2. Robneil Dylan Sanchez Dellosa of University of Perpetual Help Rizal-Calamba Campus, 87.00 percent.

3. Joanna Kaye Binoya Remolar of San Pedro College-Davao City, 86.80 percent.

4. Denise Claudia Dimatulac Mangiliman of University of Makati, Neil Nino Sugitarios Navarra of San Pedro College-Davao City, and Pedro Posadas Tabernero Jr. of Saint Dominic Savio College, 86.40 percent

5. Joann Aguilar Candado of West Negros College, Betty Chua Chung of University of Makati, and Leslie Yap Coo of Central Philippine University, 86.20 percent.

6. Katrina Victoria Luceno Akut of Xavier University, John Edward Vergil Villaflor Belardo of Trinity University of Asia (Trinity-QC), and Richard Baguio Saavedra of Ateneo de Davao University, 86.00 percent.

7. Rosemarie Lu Go of Western Mindanao State University, January Ivy Bacali Haspela of Central Philippine University, Cristine Valen Mendez of Davao Doctors College, Inc., and Julius Atalip Riazonda of Saint Paul University-Tuguegarao, 85.80 percent.

8. Joreena Perida Alvaran of Remedios T. Romualdez Medical Foundation, Emlyn Limbo Escobar of University of La Sallete-Santiago, Hernessa Torralba Hernandez of Xavier University, 85.60 percent.

9. Gerrie Mae Lozada Angostura of University of Iloilo, Sheryl Gaye Uy Cu of De Los Santos College, Ayn Portia de Luna Galamgam of San Pedro College-Davao City, Germaine Lou Tabita Sanchez of University of San Agustin, Marie Kathleen Cavida Santos of Perpetual Help College of Manila, Mary Lenin Pepito Talisic of San Pedro College-Davao City, Jay Pong Yap of Capitol University (Cagayan Capitol College), and Vivian Esparaz Yu of De Los Santos College, 85.40 percent.

10. Katrina Socorro Lapuz Cembrano of University of San Agustin, Diana Jean Bernardo Mendoza of Dr. Carlos S. Lanting College-Quezon City, Jeggar Chris Envoltorio Sorianosos of West Visayas State University-La Paz, and Aura Ydda Alyne Santiago Toreja of Our Lady of Fatima University-Valenzuela, 85.20 percent.

The members of the Board of Nursing that prepared the test questions were Carmencita M. Abaquin, chair; Leonila A. Faire, Betty F. Merritt, Perla G. Po, Marco Antonio C. Sto.Tomas, Yolanda C. Arugay and Amelia B. Rosales.

The successful examinees are advised to personally register and sign on the Roster of Registered Professionals at the PRC.

The passers must come in their white gala uniform, nurses cap and white duty
